Leafing through a copy of Cyclist magazine is always a pleasure, and January’s issue especially so given the British publication’s glowing review of the Sarto Raso TC.

Put to the test in the county of Kent, the ‘Garden of England’, by Cyclist's Laurence Kilpatrick, the Raso earned early appreciation for its comfort at speed, with Laurence reporting that the bike “felt buttery smooth, sucking me into corners and leans, reducing any road buzz to a faint murmur despite the palpable stiffness that underpinned the whole frame.” Further noting that, despite a case of self-diagnosed docile winter legs, he managed to “tick along at a very good clip without much hard work.”

While Laurence does raise the issue of quantifying the efficacy of Raso’s TC’s tubing over the non-TC Raso (a fair test would be riding one with and one without, of course), he opines that “it certainly doesn’t prevent the Raso TC producing a deeply smooth and luxurious rider experience, even over mixed surfaces.”

In conclusion, Laurence writes that “the Raso TC strikes me as the kind of machine which would flourish in one of those increasingly common grand tour stages we see nowadays, where most of the peloton begrudgingly veers left off the tarmac and onto some pretty PG gravel for utter chaos to ensue.”

Test Notes

Trusting in the integrity of a Sarto review is a must. With that in mind, please note the conditions upon which we sent the bike to Cyclist:

The Raso TC was supplied to Cyclist for review without bias, favour, or on the promise of future advertising spending. Sarto is also not a current advertiser in the magazine. In addition, Cyclist returned the bike to us after the test.
